Am I limited to a certain number of hours per month?
Yes, there are limitations on our service, however we include a generous monthly allotment of hours with our service. Please read our terms of service for exact details on these limits.

Is there a setup fee?
Yes, a $15 one time fee will be added to your initial payment to cover the cost of our technicians provisioning your static IP service. Please allow up to 48 hours for your account to have a static IP assigned.

Are there any long distance charges when using 56kStaticIP.com?
We suggest that you check with your local phone company to make sure that the number you dial to use 56kStaticIP.com is a local call.  Under no circumstances will 56kStaticIP.com reimburse for long distance charges.

Are there any penalties for canceling the service?
No.  We never charge a cancellation penalty.  If we do not live up to YOUR expectations, then we do not deserve your business.

Can I pay monthly?
Yes!  We are so confident in our service that we do not lock you into a 3, 6 or 12-month contract.

Can I pay by check?
No, due to the nature of our automated billing system, we cannot accept checks.

Can I use my dial-up account to connect simultaneously from several computers?
No.  Only one simultaneous connection can be supported per $23.90 access fee.

Can I get a 30-day free trial, or 100 free hours with 56kStaticIP.com?
No, due to the specialized service we offer and the costs associated with setting up a Static IP account, we cannot offer free trials.

Can I dial in from any one of your numbers and get my Static IP?
No, unfortunately, you will be assigned your Static IP ONLY if you dial the local number you chose when you signed up. You can call any other of our numbers nationwide, but you will be assigned a dynamic IP address.

Can I run a Web or Mail server on my static IP?
You cannot run a public mail or web server on our service as the standard ports that these services run on are blocked. However, you may run private servers on non-standard ports. You may also run an FTP server or access your computer via PC Anywhere or other remote access program.

Can I remain online for unlimited time without disconnecting?
A user will automatically be disconnected after 5 hours.  You can call back in and reconnect within two minutes.

How fast is 56kStaticIP.com?
Very fast!  56kStaticIP.com uses the latest in modem technology.  All 56kStaticIP.com connections are via 56k, V.90 compliant modems.

How often will I get a busy signal?
Not often!  56kStaticIP.com does everything possible to maintain easy access to the internet.

How often does your server go down?
Not often.  Our servers are completely redundant.  When one goes down, another one picks up right where it left off.

How long does it take to get my account activated?
Accounts are activated within 60 seconds, however your static IP takes 24 to 48 hours to be configured. You will be notified via email when it is complete.

How do I get in touch with customer service and technical support?
They can be reached from our Customer Support page.  Our goal is to answer all inquiries in 15-30 minutes.

Spamming policies
We do not allow spamming.  Do not attempt to use us to send unsolicited bulk e-mail (spamming).  If you are found to be spamming, your account will be cancelled and you will be blocked from ever using our service again. We also use CALLER ID in our radius files to track the phone number that users are dialing from and we do not hesitate to track down fraudulent offenders.

What is the monthly fee?
Monthly rate for unlimited nationwide internet access is $23.90, including Hawaii, Alaska and Canada.

When do you charge my credit card?
New customers are charged at time of signup a pro-rated amount for the current month plus our $15.00 setup fee. After that your credit card will be charged on or about the 25th day of each month for the following month's service.

What credit cards do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

Who provides 56kStaticIP.com with its backbone to the Internet?
56kStaticIP.com utilizes the internet and frame-relay backbone of Qwest, UUNET, Telia, and StarNet.

What is the maximum email attachment size?
File size may be up to 10MB and all file types are allowed.
